My name is Kate Telford and I am a qualified and experienced counsellor based in Llandudno, North Wales. I have worked in the mental health sector for the last nine years, working with adults, children, and young people. I have worked in voluntary and statutory sectors, as well as in schools, the community, clients' own homes and online. I have experience working with a broad range of issues, including
- Depression and anxiety
- Bereavement and loss
- Sexual abuse
- Domestic abuse
- Gender identity and sexuality
- Substance and alcohol misuse
My therapeutic approach is largely humanistic and person-centred, however I am able to integrate other approaches into my work, including CBT, solution-focused and expressive/art therapy. How I work is entirely dependent on the needs of the client I am working with.
I am a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy), which means that I work in accordance with their ethical guidelines.
I am also trained to offer supervision to other counsellors; for more information about this please see my services page.
I am based in Llandudno, North Wales within a clinic in the town centre, so I am easy to get to by car or public transport. If you prefer, I can see you at home, and I also offer appointments over Skype - so we can work together no matter the distance between us.
If you are seeking counselling for a child or young person, please contact me for an informal discussion.
